Service Description

🥕 Preservation Workshop at Trigon Farm One More Step Toward Self-Sufficiency 📅 Date: Saturday, 6 September 🕙 Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm Join us at Trigon Farm for an immersive, hands-on day dedicated to preserving the bounty of summer for the colder months ahead. This exclusive workshop will give you the confidence, knowledge, and practical skills to make the most of your seasonal vegetables — ensuring freshness and flavour all winter long. Together, we’ll explore and practice a variety of traditional and modern preservation methods using freshly harvested produce from the farm: Drying – The oldest and simplest preservation method. Learn how to dehydrate vegetables for long-term storage and how to rehydrate them for soups, stews, and casseroles. Fermentation – Discover the health benefits of this ancient technique. We’ll guide you through the science of lactic acid fermentation and how to make delicious, probiotic-rich foods like sauerkraut and kimchi. Canning – Master the process of safely preserving vegetables in jars to keep them shelf-stable and full of flavour. Pickling – Explore how brine and vinegar solutions transform everyday vegetables into tangy, vibrant accompaniments. Freezing – Learn tips and tricks for quick preservation while maintaining texture and taste. The day will include a tour of our growing area, plenty of tastings of our own preserves, and a seasonal lunch. Please bring 3–4 clean jars (a mix of small and large) — you’ll be filling them with your own creations to take home at the end of the workshop! Kindly let us know if you have any dietary requirements when booking.
